Working with the best boss in the world: David Brent

Here at Dino Media we love working with a variety of clients and customers. We take pride on designing their websites or apps and helping them to take the next steps in their business.

But sometimes we get the opportunity to do something that we are extra pleased to be working on!

Have you ever heard of the website MySingleFriend? The brainchild of Sarah Beeny, it is a dating site where your friends are in charge of your lovelife. We were instrumental in the original site and app creation (and if you see some of the guys in our office you may see that we had a personal interest in making sure that this website was awesome). We've actually been working with MySingleFriend since 2007!

Part of the Dino Media service is to offer an ongoing maintenance service to those websites that we create and so when we were approached to take on a new microsite promotion for the site, we jumped at the chance.

You see, not only was it to work with a website that we have had great fun designing in those initial stages, but it was also to feature one of our ultimate favourite comedy characters. The BrentMiester himself. How excited were we to learn that #BrentsBack?

A character conceived by British comedian Ricky Gervais; our project was to create a promotional microsite which tied in with the latest movie based on this ever popular character.

Telling the tale of the greatest rock star to come out of Slough; the film features the man himself embarking on an out of office experience to fulfil his rock star destiny! So what better way to get people to join him on his adventure then to use his upcoming movie as part of a competition with the popular dating site?

Now, whilst we are sure that David is too busy dealing with all those groupies throwing themselves at him to even contemplate visiting a dating site; this microsite features a competition to win a year's supply of gig tickets, all for you to enjoy.

The competition asked for you to upload a 20 second video telling them why David Brent should choose you for a date. Perhaps you want to explore the delights of Slough with him? Or maybe you want to simply arrange a dance off? This has to be one of those sites that we had great fun creating.
